New Beginnings

I love being in Young Womens at church, it's seriously the best calling ever!  I love the challenge and blessings of preparing lessons, getting to know the girls, and being able to associate with the greatest leaders ever.  There is always something to learn from the girls and they are all so unique!

Yesterday was New Beginnings, which is a night to welcome the girls that'll be turning 12 and entering YW and to introduce the theme for the year.  We have three new 12 year olds coming in (one just turned 12) and it'll be so fun having new girls in the group.  The theme this year is:

The whole night last night was "nautical themed" and it was adorable.  One moment really stood out in my mind from the night that I just had to share.  The girls were singing a musical number and it was kind of quiet under the piano, beautiful, but quiet.  Then two of our YW showed up towards the end of the song, so everyone pointed at them to join the group and finish the song.  The song not only sounded more beautiful, but the two girls added so much to the volume of the group and made the other girls more confident as well, which in turn they sang out more as well.

This moment stood out to me, I felt like it could relate to real world so much!  We are each very important in the work of the Lord.  Every individual has purpose and is needed, and without us there's something missing.  Sometimes we may seem insignificant, or that we just blend in, but we each add so much value!  We are all so special :)

Now, especially in young womens we notice when one girl is missing and it makes a huge difference.  It just feels so good when everyone is there.   Each girl adds a different dynamic to the group, which provides the perfect balance every Sunday and every time we meet together.

Overall, the night was so fun and I just have to say over and over again how much I love being able to spend time with these girls and leaders!!
