It's not Just the Potatoes we Love!

I used to despise living in Idaho. It took me about 3 years to "get used to it", and 4 years to like it, and now 5 years to appreciate it and call it home.

I love the culture of country living. Hard workers, simplicity and appreciation for the small things. In my neighborhood we don't run to the mall to fill free time, we run to our neighbor's house to help them watch their kids, or sit on our porch with lemonade after working on our little gardens. My neighborhood is so fun and has shown me how wonderful simplicity is.

I love that everyone has a pick up truck. I mean how fun is that?!

I love the little city we're in. We are right in the center of town. I live on the same block as the city hall, my bank, police station, fire station, my work and yummy Great Harvest Bread. We also live with a few yards of the public library, the beautiful tabernacle building, and where they do the Farmer's Market. Oh, and I can see the temple from my bedroom window.

I love the surrounding beauty. Fall here is gorgeous, I've never seen such beautiful golds, reds and yellows! In the winter the untouched snow is so peaceful and quaint. Autumn colors are great here and it's worth driving the hour and a half to see the Tetons and hike around there during this season. Summer is fun to go play and explore the surrounding areas. Mesa Falls is always a favorite and we can't wait to check out Bear World! And, well, there's no such thing as spring here :)
