Either way, we threw him a little family party "dog themed". We had snacks in dog bowls (new bowls of course), dog balloons, etc.
We wanted to keep gift giving simple this year (we have sooo many toys!!!) so we settled on a car set for him and a swing for the porch. He also adores the rocking horse grandma A got him.
I noticed at the party that Kai definitely suffers from "second child syndrome". He was so uncomfortable having everyone giving just him their full attention. He kept looking around, confused as to why EVERYONE was talking to him, looking at him, and wanting to only focus on him. He kept looking to me or Johnny for comfort.
Oh yes, and he enjoyed his cake! But, come on, would you expect any less of Kai?! Kai loves to eat everything!
Kailand has brought so much joy to our family with his cute smile, happy personality, and for all the trouble he makes.
It's hard to believe it has been one whole year since we were taking trips to the NICU, watching him eat through a tube in his nose, hoping we'd get to take him home, and holding his little monitor covered body watching his vitals on the screen, praying nothing would seriously be wrong with him. He went from our 5lb 10 oz 18" infant to our chubby 18.2lb 27" big boy! (Mind you, the doctor did say his weight is in the 2nd percentile and his height is in the 0 percentile, but he still seems chubby to us!)
We Adore our Kai and can't wait to watch him grow!
Wow I can't believe Ky is already a year old! He's adorable!! Looks like he had a fun birthday!
